Kings Kaleidoscope | Baptized Imagination | Tour Photography
One of the most special experiences of my life. Living on the bus with 12 guys for two and a half weeks was full of late night deep convos, making them let me help build the stage sometimes, using days off to go to the Shakespeare festival, so much grace for each other, finding places to poop that were NOT the bus, desert photoshoots, and just plain old joy. To Chad, Daniel, John, JJ, Zach, Bezzy, John, Drew, Jeff, Sam, Ethan, Zac, and Lief, thank you for including me and letting me join the family. I’m grateful forever.
Main takeaways:
Tour Managers are the real MVP’s
I sleep great in a bus bunk
Delirium sets in early on days off and sometimes leads to candy being thrown around the bus
Disneyland lines are great places to help the trombonist figure out his enneagram number
Meeting everyone’s families is the best
Shooting the same show night after night is an honor and a challenge, but opens up all sorts of new avenues for creativity
Meow Wolf is epic
Can’t wait to shoot tours again
Check out their new album out now: Baptized Imagination and watch this clip of Chad talking about his process at our show at the Troubador
And if you need MORE goodness, here’s the tour video of the encore : The Rush filmed by my friends Zac Schwiet and Lief Thomason that makes me sob.
Ok thanks, here’s photos!
