The One Where Savannah Moves To The Big City | New York City Photographer

I don't even fully know how to write this post, because it's so big and so exciting, but also stunningly new.

As of today, I am the new Content Creator for Irving Farm in New York City.

A month and a half ago, on a whim, I booked a trip to NYC to see my fave dude Josh Groban perform in The Great Comet. It was amazing. If you've ever wanted to sit in a Russian Opera House in 1812 while people dance around you and throw pierogis through the air, look no further, buy your tickets while you can.

While I was in the city, I had a blast doing photoshoots, drinking lots of coffee, exploring, getting a killer blowout, eating avocado toast like the millennial that I actually am, etc. I felt so inspired and creative while running around and rejoiced every time I made my train in time.

I've known for a while that as I move forward in life I want to be in a big city, that I want to keep photographing people in love, but also photograph other incredible stories in this world.

I texted a friend just to see how plausible it would be to get a job as a barista to supplement my weddings if I went, and suddenly I found myself having interviews for a job that will allow me to tell good stories and take pictures of coffee for an incredible company. The interviews were infinitely better than the last time I had interviews (mostly for stores in the mall and other things I didn't care about many years ago) because apparently there's a big difference between interviewing for things you know you don't want when you don't know who you are and interviewing for things that are big and beautiful and exciting when you know what you want and are an adult. Apparently.

The job takes all the things I do for fun and involves me getting paid for them. I officially accepted the job today. There are a lot of details I don't know yet about life and marching forward in this. It feels a little bit like the time I went skydiving but I know that jumping into the unknown has almost always yielded my very favorite experiences and I can't wait to see how good the freefall is this time.

I'll still be traveling back to Tampa for weddings and pressing on to keep telling good stories through photography there! So excited to learn a new place and live some dreams!

Enjoy these photos from my trip up and look forward to more when I move up!

Also I asked Morello, and she said she's really excited to be a little dog in a big city.
