Paris & Dublin | Film
I’m calling this the year of coming into power. This is a new decade, for everyone in the world, but doubly so for me. I turned 30 on December 27th and rang in my new year in my favorite city, Paris. The idea of coming into power, for me looks like living on my own terms, finding ways to move gently but confidently through the world. In the words of Mary Oliver, “I want to be improbably beautiful and afraid of nothing, as though I had wings.”
I chose my favorite city, took my beautiful friend Zoey, and left behind my usual equipment, the digital SLR and laptop that I love to work from. At my friends Ray and Christian’s encouragement, I took only my film camera and about 4 too many rolls. I did my best to enjoy the moment, eat a lot of croissants, and dance the transition into power.
I ended up ringing in the transition to 2020 in Dublin, a place I fell greatly in love with in different ways, but beautiful ones.
Here’s the evidence of things I’ve seen. Click them to see all the beauties.
